The Trojan Women’s team have hit the ground running for their second season with 9 weeks of training down.
Preseason training this year has included general fitness, speed and agility as well as a 4-week soccer specific weights training program with Ollie at Jetts Coburg.
Recruitment has been successful with the team welcoming seven new players, ensuring the team maintains its strong depth of players from last season. The camaraderie and friendship between players is a little too much for coach Stef some nights as she tries to explain drills…
All this prep work is paying off. At round one of the VicSoccer Preseason competition Trojans came out with 3 wins and 1 loss to finish top of the table.
With the second round of the VicSoccer tournament rescheduled, the team showed their dedication on Sunday and played a friendly against Barnstoneworth Women’s Team in gale force winds. The girls tested out some new positions and enjoyed getting a chance to play as a unit. Once again pre season training showed its worth with the team winning 4-1.
The season proper begins on the 15th of April.
